Day 8 (Aug 17)

Today was a busy day. 6:45am start with breakfast at 7:15am and then opening worship at 9:00. Our keynote speaker this morning was Paola Màrquez who is from Columbia and talked a bit about what it is like to be gay in that part of the world as well as other parts of Columbia’s culture. Then we went to our first worlshops. My morning workshop was called “priveleging reconciliation” and we talked aboht white privelege/supremecy and how we (white people) are blind to it most of the time as well as out history with the first nations people. After that it was lunch which was sandwiches and then off to workshop number two. My second workshop was a meditation worshop which I really enjoyed but I was so tired I had to try really hard to stay awake. After that I had about an hour and a half of free time before dinner so I had a nap. Dinner was lasagna, garlic bread and salad and all the BC people had dinner together. After dinner we went to our evening worship. The keynote speaker was Dr. Robert Nishioka who talked a bit about his ministry in the United States and shared some sotries with us. Then Coco love (who also performed a bit this morning) did a concert which was really good and we got to sing along. After that was home groups, time to hang out with friends and then off to bed. Super busy day today and I was pretty tired but it was very meaningful and fun.
