Day 7 (Aug 16)

Last day of travel today. We started the day at 7:00am and had breakfast at Coras around 9:00. I had a ham and swiss crepe and it was really good and REALLY big.

That’s not even the whole thing! After breakfast we watched the gaurd parade on the parlement lawn and then had a closing for our little van group. After closing we had about a half an hour to wader around the nearby area and see what ottawa was all about.

We saw the war memorial, the flame and the canal as well as the parlement building. Then we got back into the vans one last time and drove to montreal. When we arrived (a little late) we registered, found our rooms and then went to opening worship, which consisted of singing, housekeeping and a first nations speaker. After opening worship we met with our home groups. My home group leader is from newfoundland so she introduced us to a few things from her home. We tried jam jams, which taste kind of like a neutragrain bar and raspberry syrup which taste exactly like it sounds. Then we headed to dinner where we got to say hello to old friends and new friends alike (even if it was super loud and crowded). Then we had a little free time and then a second full conference gathering. The keynote speaker this evening was right rev. Jordan Cantwell and she had some pretty amazing things to say. Then we had todays closing worship and went back to our rooms for some quiet time and sleeping. It has been quite and adventure thus far and the conference has only just begun!
